I have been fortunate along my career path, to engage with many different types of businesses and professions, nationally and internationally. Management Training and Coaching Experts (MANTRACE) has been successfully operating since 2004. Prior to this, I had been mentoring, coaching and advising small businesses of various specialties for some time. The demand for my services grew exponentially, which in turn, led me to formalise my business. In order to promote and deliver the best practice management resources, knowledge and culture, I made a commitment to ongoing learning and skills development. Some of the businesses (other than health and allied health) I have worked with, include tourism and hospitality, hair and beauty, airlines, construction and mining.

My husband is an Optometrist and we owned and operated two Optical practices for 26 years. Across this span of time, our health and alliedhealth industries, systems, regulations and professions changed dramatically. Not only was it a new way of thinking, but it required new ways of operating practices, continuing further education, marketing, risk management, human resource management… and the list goes on. The challenges were invigorating and propelled me into a career that I am truly passionate about.

My initial tertiary education in Commerce (with three majors of Accounting, Marketing and Management) gave me an excellent foundation on which to build experience, further speciality education and training in my preferred fields. Knowledge and experience is of greatest value when they operate together. Neither one is going to be as effective without the other. Working in our practices from the frontline through to management and ownership, ensured that I gained a very thorough knowledge at all levels.

Initially we operated one independent practice, before opening a second in a different suburb. Both practices were very successful and more recently, BUPA (a national health insurance fund) purchased them outright. I then spent two years as the National Practice Development Manager for BUPA Optical in Australia. I embraced this opportunity to work Australia wide in corporate health management. After completing my employment contract with BUPA, I was offered a teaching position with an RTO (Registered Training Organisation) to deliver the Cert IV in Optical Dispensing course. During this time, I was also approved by ASC (Australian Skills Council) to write and deliver the Diploma of Practice Management. I have written and now deliver the Diploma of Practice Management and both of the Cert III and Cert IV in Health Administration fully accredited and nationally recognized courses. First Aid and CPR are also available for individuals or groups. We are continually adding courses, and the will be updated with details under our TRAINING heading.
